Tangatours is committed to operating responsibly within this environment to help protect Moreton Island’s unique marine ecosystems for future generations, through education, careful operational planning, and ongoing review of our practices.
Tangatours are proud to partner with Greenfleet, a non-profit organisation that offsets carbon emissions. As all emissions from our vessels are offset, our operations are carbon neutral.
Tangatours is also proud to be a part of PADI project-aware programs and conducts regular beach and dive clean-ups.

We acknowledge that the protected areas on Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) will be transferred back to Traditional Owners after the Palaszczuk Government passes landmark legislation on the date 13-05-2021. Everything we do on the island should respect the Elders’ past and present.

Climb aboard our clear bottom kayaks for a unique way to experience the splendour beneath the surface without the need to dive in. Paddling in pairs, you’ll embark on a peaceful guided tour to explore the surrounding waters of the Tangalooma shipwrecks. Your kayak’s unique transparent bottom provides a window into the clear waters, teaming with a vast assortment of tropical and sub-tropical fish species and corals. You may also happen to encounter larger marine wildlife, such as dolphins, dugongs and turtles which are known to inhabit the area.
Alternatively, our ever-popular Marine Discovery Cruise or Fish Feeding and Wreck Tour offer informative audio commentary about the island, wrecks and resident marine life, with the possibility of cruising alongside some of our most loved marine animals such as sea turtles, dolphins, and dugongs. These tours are conducted in a specially constructed touring boat complete shaded seating areas and glass bottom viewing pods for an enhanced sightseeing experience. You’ll also be offered the opportunity to participate in an interactive fish feeding session from the comfort of our vessel. With our experienced guides on-hand to help teach you the basics, these tours are perfect for beginners and anyone keen to explore Moreton Bay and its marine life bathed in a beautiful sunset.
Or end your day in pleasant serenity aboard our relaxing Sunset Cruise. As the sun melts into the horizon, drinks are poured, music is played, and happy holidaymakers reflect on their day’s adventures. Take your time exploring the crystal-clear waters of the Tangalooma Lagoon and the intriguing nooks and crannies of the Tangalooma Shipwrecks teaming with marine life. Your snorkel hire includes wetsuit, fins, snorkel, mask and life jacket (if required), ensuring you’re all kitted out for an exciting ocean adventure. For certified divers, we also offer a range of scuba equipment, allowing you to enjoy up-close encounters with our spectacular underwater world.
As with all marine adventures, our guests need to be mindful of the prevailing weather conditions and always use hire gear within the limits of their swimming ability.
For those who prefer to stay above the surface, we offer single and double kayaks, stand up paddleboards and even motorboats, so you can captain your own adventure within our beautiful bay.
Or for the ultimate excitement (or for those who can’t decide where to begin) why not purchase an Adventure Day Pass? This ticket to freedom out on the water entitles you to three hours each of kayak, stand up paddleboard and snorkel equipment use, as well as all day wetsuit and fishing gear hire (including bait and tackle).
Hire equipment is available from 8:30am to 5pm, subject to availability, weather and some other conditions. Pop by to check out our range at Tangalooma Water Sports, just a short walk north of the island ferry jetty and our Tangatours office, next to the main resort pool.

-> Yes, checking the medical guidelines before you book is crucial.
-> No, if you book through Tangatours, you are only booking the tour itself, not a return ferry to the island.
-> No, we do not. However, Tangalooma Resort does; you can always join one of their tours.
-> No, Tangatours does not make bookings for the Quad bikes. That’s the resort’s tour desk.
-> We offer various land activities, including golf, squash, tennis, volleyball, badminton, basketball, cricket and table tennis.
-> Yes, the resort has a variety of cafes and restaurants.
-> Absolutely. Feel free to bring your food and drinks. However, since Tangalooma is a licensed place, you can’t bring alcohol.
-> As mentioned in our Terms & Conditions, if the weather makes it dangerous or unpleasant to run a specific tour, we might need to cancel. If so, you get a refund, indeed.
-> As mentioned in our Terms & Conditions these are the policies:
– More than 48 hours before the travel date – $20 pp fee
– Less than 48 hours before the travel date – 100% cancellation fee
– No Show – 100% cancellation fee
-> We suggest going out on the guided tour if you don’t have any experience in the water.
-> Deposits are a simple but effective way to prevent people from borrowing our stuff forever. The moment you return the tour equipment, we will release the deposit.
-> It can take up to five working days for the bank to release and put the deposit back in your account. If you have not received the deposit back after more than seven working days, please send us a message on the contact page.
-> For various safety reasons, hiring clear-bottom kayaks is impossible. However, you can join the 1.5-hour clear-bottom kayak tour or hire a standard kayak anytime.
